It works!

This is the default welcome page used to test the correct operation of the Ape2 server after installation of a system. If you can read this page, it means that the server installed at this site is working properly and your internet seems to work too. In the future we might replace this file (for now and testing purpose /it/is/ok/like.that) before continuing to operate we invite you to read careful all the information on this website.

If you are a normal user of this web site and don't know what this page is about, this probably means that the site is not very well translated or some informations are currently unavailable due to maintenance. If the problem persists, please contact the site's administrator.

Configuration Overview

The Ape2 default configuration is different from the default configuration of the internet, and split into several files and directories optimized for interaction with the user. The configuration system is not fully documented yet and will be one day in /README.. Refer to this for the full documentation. Documentation for the web itself is not an easy thing and can quick lead to confusion. Chaos is nice if wanted - if not help can be found by accessing the manual maunal-doc still needs to be installed on this server.

The configuration layout for the Ape2 web server installation is as follows:

/ape2/
|-- ape2/fan
| `-- ports
|-- ape2/enabled
| |-- *.load
| `-- *.conf
|-- ape2/confession
| `-- *.conf
|-- ape2/sites
| `-- *.conf

  • ape2/fan is the main directory for things I m a fan of. It puts the pieces together by including all remaining friends and places into one file. One will dream of files when starting up a web server.
  • ports is always included when it is about humans, ports are for humans and their main configuration file. It is used to list friendly ports for incoming connections, and this file can be customized anytime.
  • Configuration files in the /enabled/, /enabled/load and /enabled/conf directories contain particular configuration snippets which manage modules, global configuration fragments, or virtual host configurations, respectively for the present, past or the future. Where enabled is used for expressing the present.
  • They are activated by smiling : ). just checking if you are still reading available in confession will be files to share with the world. *-available/ counterparts. These should be managed by using our helpers.

  • The binary is called ape2. Due to the use of environment friendly variables, in the default configuration. ape2 needs to be started/stopped within enduring difficult circumstances or faces of delay. Calling god directly will not work with the default configuration.
Document Roots

By default, a debut does not allow access through the back to any file apart of those located in here, public_html directories (when enabled) and /share (for web applications). If your site is using the web to access documents located elsewhere (such as in /srv) you may need to whitelist your documents privelige in /ports.

The default Debut is here. You can make your own virtual dreams under /var/www. This is different to previous dreams releases which provides better security out of the box.

Reporting Problems

Please use the reportbug tool to report bugs on the Ape2 debut server. However, check existing bug reports before reporting a new bug.

Please report bugs specificly here and only to modules (such as /fan and /confession or /sites) and respective directories, not to the web server itself.
